Jewish Federations Show Gratitude to Senators with Full Page Ad

To show our gratitude to the United States Senate for their historic vote of approval on a supplemental appropriations bill that provides aid to our allies in Ukraine and Israel, Jewish Federations of North America took out full-page ads thanking the 70 Senators who supported its passage.

Our two allies have been subjected to unprovoked violent attacks on their citizens, and because the forces that perpetrated and supported these attacks are aligned against our country, this legislation sends the strongest possible message of American support and resolve.

The ads, which ran February 14, were published in the print editions of The Hill and Politico, which are delivered to every office on Capitol Hill. They were signed by Jewish Federations of North America, Anti-Defamation League, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish American Organizations, Hadassah, National Council for Jewish Women, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Union for Reform Judaism, Zionist Rabbinic Coalition, Reconstructing Judaism, The Rabbinical Assembly, and the Israeli-American Council.

The National Security Act not only supports our allies, but also includes funding that will bolster the Nonprofit Security Grant Program which will help protect communities in the United States that have been under threat from rising extremist hate. This helps houses of worship such as churches, synagogues and mosques secure themself. It also provides important funds for humanitarian needs.

We know that this legislation does not include solutions to important and legitimate issues that Congress has long debated, but it has emerged with a bipartisan consensus that touches each of us.
