Advocacy and Community Relations Coordinator - Hamilton

The Coordinator will work under the supervision of the CEO and the Advocacy Committee of the Hamilton Jewish Federation. The Coordinator will support the general efforts of government and media relations in Hamilton. This includes outreach to the mayor’s office, city councillors, locally elected provincial and federal officials, local political/party staffers, community-at-large, and local media. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage the communications between Federation and elected officials and members of their staff, and local officials in key departments.
  • Identify and create opportunities to raise Federation’s profile with target audiences in Hamilton, including local government, school boards, community-at-large and media.
  • Implement Federation’s strategic objectives and ensure CIJA and other organizations are advised of local advocacy concerns and issues.
  • Monitor local media and coordinate responses on issues of importance to Federation and the Hamilton Jewish Community 
  • Advance relations with other community groups
